An angel told Mary that she was to be the mother of Jesus. What a thrill it must have been. Use these ideas and activities to teach your preschoolers this lesson.
The ideas below may help you when teaching your preschoolers a lesson about the angel that visits Mary to tell her she would be the mother of Jesus. Feel free to use these ideas to supplement your current curriculum or to make your own lesson.
Luke 1:26-38
Directions: Have the children sit in a line side-by-side. Start the game by whispering a message in the first child's ear. Tell each child to pass along the message that you recited and see if they will keep the message intact all the way down the line. It may make it easier for the children, if you divide them into two groups for a big class. Now let a child start a message and see what happens. Young children usually laugh a lot during this game.
Variation: Make telephones out of Styrofoam cups and string and have children work in pairs to see if they can give each other messages through their "phones."
Directions: Print the dot-to-dot picture below and have the children complete the picture and color it.
A good snack for this lesson would be:
Prepare an Angel Food cake using box directions. Add fresh strawberries, blueberries, or other fruit with whipped topping for a special treat.
Another good snack for this lesson would be:
Allergy Alert: Recipe contains nuts
Variation: You can drizzle these with chocolate, if desired.
Print the coloring page below and let the children color with crayons.
