Daniel trusted God in everything he did. Teach your preschoolers what happened to Daniel when he was thrown in a lions den with hungry lions waiting there.
The ideas below may help you teach a lesson on Daniel in the Lions Den. Feel free to use these ideas to supplement your current curriculum or to make your own lesson.

Game Ideas
Daniel May I?
Directions: Have the children line up along a wall. Call one child by name and offer him a chance to take certain steps to get to the other end of the room. Each child must say, "Daniel May I?", and if they do, you will say, "Yes, you can.” That child can then take the steps described as outlined below. If a child forgets to say, "Daniel May I?," he must skip one turn. If children take the wrong step, cheats, or falls down during a jump, they need to go back to the start.
Steps might include:
1 lion step (a giant stride)
1 sheep step (a tiny step)
1 King Darius step (a hop)
1 Angel step (turn around as they take a step)
You can offer 1, 2, or 3 of the steps. Come up with your own steps, too!
Not My Cub
Directions: Select a child to be the lion. Have the lion sit with her back to the other players at least ten feet away. Put a stuffed lion behind the child being the lion and pretend it is her cub. Have the other players take turns (one at a time) sneaking up behind the lion and trying to take the cub away. If the lion hears the person sneaking up, she can roar and then turn around. If the lion has caught a player, by tapping him on the shoulder, the tagged player takes the lion's place and becomes the new lion. She then goes back with the other players who have already been the lion. If there are no players left when the lion roars that child wins the game.
Snacks
Animal Crackers would be a good snack for this lesson.
Another good snack for this lesson would be a veggie tray with dip (because Daniel only ate good food when he was brought to Babylon).
Art Center Ideas
Lion Finger Puppet
Materials:
Orange, red, and black felt squares
Scissors
Glue
Brown yarn
Wiggly eyes (optional)
Directions:
Cut out two rectangular pieces of orange felt large enough to fit on a child's finger. Glue three sides together, leaving the bottom open for the finger.

Cut out eyes, nose and mouth from the black and red felt pieces. Glue them on the face of the lion (orange circle).
Cut strands of brown yarn to be the lion's mane, and glue the strands around the lions head. Let dry.
