Jesus Feeds Five Thousand

Preschool Sunday School Lesson Ideas and Activities

Sep 4, 2007 Denise Oliveri

Imagine taking two fish and five loaves of bread and being able to feed 5,000 people. That is a miracle only Jesus could have done. Use these ideas to teach a lesson.

The ideas below may help you when teaching your preschoolers a lesson about the miracle of Jesus feeding 5,000 people. Feel free to use these ideas to supplement your current curriculum or to make your own lesson.

Story Suggestion

Matthew 14:13-21

Game Ideas

Fishing Game

Directions: Make paper fish out of different colors (two each of the same color). Put a paper clip on each nose of the fish. Construct fishing poles out of large sticks, string, and a magnet on the end of the string. Put the fish in a large box covered with blue construction paper. You can decorate the box to look like waves, if you desire. Have the children use the fishing pole to try and get out two fish of the same color without looking. Give each child a turn.

Board Games

Directions: Bring in board games for the children to play. It teaches children that they have to wait their turn and share the game with other players in order for the game to be fun. You can make your own board games in a snap.
