Samson was a man given great strength. He also loved God very much. What happens when Delilah finds his weakness. Share these ideas with your preschooler class.
The ideas below may help you teach a lesson on Samson and Delilah. Feel free to use these ideas to supplement your current curriculum or to make your own lesson. Story SuggestionJudges 16:1-22 Game IdeasRing on a StringDirections: Place a small ring on a length of string, then tie it tightly and cut off the "tails" where the string was knotted. Adjust the size of the circle as necessary to include every child as they stand close to one another. Show the children the ring on the string, and how to move their hands back and forth passing the ring from hand to hand, or as they pretend to pass the ring. Let them practice while saying this rhyme: "I give it to you, you give it to me. When we find the ring, how happy you'll be." After they have practiced a few times, choose one child to stand in the center of the circle. At the end of the rhyme, he tries to guess who has the ring. The child he guesses goes into the center (regardless if he had the ring or not). Emphasize the fun of playing a game where you are giving and receiving from each other. Continue until several children have been guessed. Prayer WalkDirections: Invite your class to join you on a prayer walk. Explain to the children that a prayer walk involves physically moving to different areas of the church and praying for people who use those areas. As you come to each stop, announce the name of the area and the people it represents. Encourage the children who are willing to take turns voicing sentence prayers for these people. Make a few stops before heading back to class. Some suggestions for prayer walk stops might include:
A prayer walk is very specific to your church and its facility. SnacksA good snack for this lesson would be grapes and string cheese. Another good snack for this lesson would be: Chocolate Cornflake CookiesIngredients:
