The ideas below may help you when teaching a lesson on the life of Paul. Feel free to use these ideas to supplement your current curriculum or to make your own lesson.
Directions: Form a "river" by laying two lengths of rope in parallel lines about 12 inches apart. Have the children line up behind one of the lines and take turns leaping across the "river" and over the opposite line. After all have crossed, widen the span by four inches. Repeat the action. As children are eliminated they sit down, and the distance is widened four inches at a time until only one child is able to cross it.
Directions: Have the children put a square piece of carpet on the floor with the carpet side down. Next, they will sit on the carpet with their feet extended out in front and their knees bent. Their feet should not be on the carpet. Demonstrate how they can pull themselves forward with their feet.
Another variation to this game would be to have the children work their arms as if they are rowing a boat. Sing a few verses of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat."
A good snack for this lesson would be to fill a celery sticks with cream cheese and cheese whiz. Use triangle shaped crackers for sails to make a boat.
Another good snack idea for this lesson would be to use Fruit Roll-Ups to make scrolls. You can wrap the ends around two Twizzlers to be the dowel.
